27th Annual Home and Garden Idea Fair at the Clark County Event Center

April 27, 2018 @ 8:00 am - April 29, 2018 @ 6:00 pm

27th Annual Home and Garden Idea Fair at the Clark County Event Center

The 27th annual Clark Public Utilities Home & Garden Idea Fair is an annual tradition for tens of thousands who flock to the free event to get home improvement ideas, browse landscape displays, buy plants from the largest plant sale in the area and hear local experts give tips on the latest trends for homes, inside and out.

This year, in addition to providing limitless inspiration for projects from replacing roofs to adding raised beds, the Home & Garden Idea Fair will feature examples of two trends: plug-in electric vehicles and accessory dwelling units, or ADUs.

In addition to the electric vehicle ride and drive, the Home & Garden Idea Fair will feature tours of a 300 square foot, fixed foundation ADU built by WOLF Industries. On the heels of a hot tiny house trend the last few years, new policies in areas of Clark County are now allowing for more convenient construction of Accessory Dwelling Units such a mother-in-law apartments, garage conversions or free-standing small homes like the one you’ll find on display in the landscape area at the idea fair.

Fairgrounds parking is $6 and visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Clark County food bank.

April 27 – 29, 2018

Friday, April 27: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, April 28: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, April 29: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Food is available
A variety of concessions will be available to purchase, including sandwiches, hamburgers, popcorn, and ice cream.

Limited wheelchairs available
If you have your own wheelchair, we recommend that you bring it, since only a limited number of wheelchairs will be available to borrow at the entrance gates. You’ll need to leave your driver’s license with a volunteer until you have returned the wheelchair.

Plan for purchases
A plant holding area is available near the plant building, and package holding is available in the Exhibition Hall. But it’s a good idea to bring a large bag, backpack, wagon or stroller, or to save most of your buying until the end of your day at the fair. Cash machines are available.

What to wear
Bring a jacket or dress in layers. The Exhibition Hall is heated, but there are plenty of other outdoor features you’ll want to check out.

Leave your pets at home
For safety reasons, no pets except identified service dogs are allowed on the fairgrounds. This policy will be enforced at the entry gate, so please leave your pets at home.

Recycle old bulbs for free
Clark Public Utilities will offer free CFL recycling at the Home & Garden Idea Fair. Collection containers will be located at all fair entrance gates. While supplies last, Clark Public Utilities will give you a voucher to receive two new LED bulbs if you bring in a burned out CFL to recycle. You can redeem vouchers at the Clark Public Utilities display inside the Exhibition Hall.
